The basis of Dali Wireless RF ROUTER platform is the “end-to-end” digital RF signal processing. The analog RF from the base station is converted to digital signal in the RF ROUTER platform’s signal processing module, and the signal remains digital up to the antenna location. The digital signal is then tagged with an address which allows signal to travel from any source to any destination point within the radio distribution network.
How is that different from other hybrid-digital systems with fiber optic transmission? Digital transmission only allows a simple point-to-point network – always the same source, and always the same destination, as the network is hardwired. With digital RF signal processing, an intelligent logical layer supersedes the hardwired physical network. Irrespective of the underlying physical transport network, a logical network is formed that enables RF signals to travel from any source to any destination point – a multipoint-to-multipoint network.
